European Russia has hundreds of hidden gems, and Pechory-Pskov is one of them, located not far from each other, the dominating Pskov has architecture that envisages the real russia. Tall onion domed churches dots the city, with monolithic stone walls extending to Pechory, the small one of the two. Pechory is known for its spectacular monastery and castles that surround it along with its charming village vibe. Luckily they are very close to each other so you won't get bored too quickly.
